Yvonne Robb Sherron, 87, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on May 2, 2026.
Born on January 27, 1939, in Hammond, Indiana, to Vera and Egerton Robb, Yvonne’s father was an engineer at Shell Oil Company; as a result, she was raised in Indiana, Texas, California, and New York. She lived a life defined by love, service, and quiet strength. She married Fred Edward Sherron, Jr., on February 22, 1962, in Beaumont, Texas, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned sixty-four beautiful years.
A proud graduate of Lamar University with a degree in education, Yvonne dedicated twenty-six years to teaching elementary school in Beaumont, Houston, Nassau Bay, and La Porte, Texas. Her classroom was a nurturing haven of warmth, encouragement, discipline, and respect, where generations of children gained not only a strong academic foundation but also enduring values of kindness, curiosity, respect, and responsibility. After retiring, she found deep joy in solving word puzzles, tending her garden, feeding her deer, baking and cooking for her family, and lovingly nurturing those closest to her.
A lifelong Christian, Yvonne believed in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. She was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, where her gentle spirit and steadfast faith deeply touched her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Egerton Robb, and her brother, Curtis Robb.
Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred; their three sons and families: Dr. Robb Sherron, D.O., his wife Dr. Serena Sherron, D.O., and sons Blake and Braden; Marc Sherron, his wife Tamra, and sons Tyler and Macrae; Dr. Todd Sherron, PH.D., his wife Emili, and daughters Avery and Aubrey, sister-in-law Janet Robb, and nieces Pam Mills and Paula Bowman with their spouses and children. Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Bert Baetz presiding and the Rev. Stockton Williams officiating and preaching; followed by a private family burial.
Pallbearers will be Robb Sherron, Marc Sherron, Todd Sherron, Blake Sherron, Macrae Sherron, Braden Sherron.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
Yvonne’s light, grace, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and all who knew her.
