Rudolpho (Rudy) Montero Hernandez, 73, of Kerrville, Texas died peacefully at home on May 6, 2026. He was born in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato Mexico to Margarita Hernandez and Francisco Montero on September 20, 1952.
Rudy worked at Bernhard Meat Processing for 49 years. He took great pride in his work and the friendships he built along the way. Hunting season was more than a job to him. It was a time of stories, laughter and long days shared with his coworkers and friends. His hands carried the marks of honest labor and his life reflected strength and dedication.
Rudy also cherished his family gatherings, home cooked meals, music and baseball games. He will be remembered for his resilience and his loyalty to the ones he loved.
Rudy is survived by wife, Rosalinda Torres of Kerrville, Texas; daughter, Cierra (Philip) Mikesh of Fredericksburg, Texas; stepson, Zac (Julie) Torres of Kerrville, Texas; mother, Margarita Hernandez of Ingram, Texas; brothers, Alfredo (Irma) Montero of Arkansas, Evelio (Olivia) Montero of Ingram, Texas; Everardo “Jorge” (Esperanza) Montero of Ingram, Texas; sister, Eugenia Castanon of Ingram, Texas; grandchildren, Briley, Shane and Jacob Mikesh of Fredericksburg, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by brothers Raymundo Montero, Ramiro Montero, Sergio Montero, Antonio Montero, Francisco Montero Jr, and father, Francisco Montero, Sr.
Rudy will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held 10 am- 7pm, Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
A rosary will be held at 5 PM, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Deacon Jimmy Bill.
