Wendi Michelle Setzer-Finkbeiner, 52, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2026, surrounded by love.

Born October 8, 1973, in Richland, Washington, Wendi was known for her creative spirit, fierce loyalty, warm heart, and unwavering love for family and friends. She grew up in West Richland, Washington, where she developed lifelong passions for photography, art, baking, crafts, music, and helping others.

Wendi devoted much of her life to her family, her faith, and caring for those around her. She worked in training, procurement, and administration throughout her career, while also supporting her community and church whenever she could. Those who know Wendi will remember her as smart, funny, quirky, and deeply compassionate. She had a special gift for making people feel supported, understood, and loved.

She is survived by her husband, Kristopher Finkbeiner; her children, Casin, Auna, and Kale; four beloved grandchildren; her mother, Theresa Ann Lord-Shipler; stepfather, Charles Eston Shipler; siblings Nancy Ledington-Lightfoot, Jennifer Shipler-Mercado, Brandon Shipler, and Elizabeth Shipler; extended family members; and many dear friends whose lives touched deeply.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Earl Setzer; her daughter, Piper; and grandparents, Margaret Maryann Capistrant-Lord, Dillard Shipler, and Virginia Shipler.

Wendi’s love, strength, kindness, and encouragement will continue through all those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

"Kris and Auna. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Wendi at WSU and went to the flower fields in Hermiston for Wendi to take graduation pictures of my grand daughter. It was such a fun day. I still work at WSU and one of your cousin came to pay tuition and I asked him if he knew Wendi and he told me that she had passed. I was so shocked. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Kathy"
