Debra “Debbie” Schmitmeyer Stacy passed away on June 24, 2026. Born on February 24, 1951, in Sidney, Ohio, she was the daughter of Alfred John Schmitmeyer and Rosalia Klikovitz Schmitmeyer.
Debbie married Jimmy Wayne Stacy on February 14, 1992, in Belleville, Illinois. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer White and husband Chad; grandchildren Caleb and Katy White and great-granddaughter Ella, Jackson, Benjamin, Lillie Kate, Luke, and Jedidiah White; her sister, Jeannie and husband Brett; her niece, Jennifer Paredes and husband Andrew; and great-nieces Mallory, Anna, Jill, and Mia.
Raised on her family’s dairy farm near Sidney, Ohio, Debbie developed a strong work ethic at an early age, helping milk cows alongside her sister each morning and evening. She carried that determination throughout her life and was known for her dedication, generosity, and willingness to help others. She also worked in administration for several hospital systems in various states.
Debbie devoted many volunteer hours to St. Vincent de Paul and found great joy in crocheting more than 100 baby afghans, which she lovingly donated to families and Crisis Pregnancy Centers. She was an accomplished cook, gardener, and homemaker whose warmth and hospitality made everyone feel welcome. Her family and friends will especially remember her legendary cooking, including her beloved Eggs Schmitmeyer.
Private services were held and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Those wishing to honor Debbie’s memory may make a donation to Gideon’s International.
