Robbie Jann Anderson Colls, affectionately known as Jann, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Kerrville, Texas, at the age of 80.
Jann was born on September 13, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to George Lester Anderson and Velma Vasser Dixon Anderson.
Throughout her life, Jann wore many hats. She began her career as a professional model in Dallas before becoming a successful food broker and later working in real estate. Those who knew her admired her professionalism, strong work ethic, and ability to connect with people.
On February 25, 1984, she married John Scott Colls in Arlington, Texas. Together they shared more than 42 years of marriage and built a life centered on faith, family, and community.
After moving to Kerrville, Jann became involved in her church and community. She faithfully served as a deacon at First Christian Church of Kerrville and was honored to serve on the Board of the Texas State Hospital in Kerrville. Her Christian faith remained an important part of her life.
Jann will be remembered for her striking blue eyes, her elegance, and the pride she took in presenting herself with grace and beauty. She had a feisty and determined spirit, a charming personality, and a stubborn streak that those who loved her knew well. Never one to shy away from speaking her mind, she lived with confidence and conviction. She loved camping, looked forward to holiday Monopoly marathons with her grandchildren, and never seemed to tire of Hallmark Christmas movies—whether anyone else wanted to watch them or not.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Crandall; her daughter, Crystal Camille Birkes of Dallas, Texas; her brother, Jack Carter Anderson of Seattle, Washington; and her half-brother, James "Jimmy" Weedon of Bryan, Texas.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Scott Colls of Kerrville; her son, Richard James “Jim” Crandall and his wife, Tammy, of Logansport, Louisiana; her sister, Jill Stephenson of Katy, Texas; and her nephews, George Stephenson and Greg Stephenson, both of Katy, Texas.
She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren: Mallory Wiedemann and her husband, Neth, of New Canaan, Connecticut; Jake Crandall and his wife, Madison, of Richardson, Texas; Callie Crandall of Fort Worth, Texas; and Cade Crandall of Long Beach, California.
Jann was also blessed with six great-grandsons: James Sterling Wiedemann, Frederic Crandall Wiedemann, Anderson Gulley Wiedemann, Calvin Griffith Crandall, Everett Law Crandall, and Arch Cloud Crandall. She treasured watching her family grow and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through future generations.
A memorial service celebrating Jann's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas, with Rev. Ernie Taylor of Kerrville House of Praise and Worship officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers will be George Stephenson, Greg Stephenson, Jake Crandall, Cade Crandall, Bret Gray and Troy Davis.
The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Jill, RN; Jessie, RN; Jamie, Chaplain; Kamryn, Social Worker; and Dr. Young for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided to Jann and her family during her final days.
