Ronald “Ron” Torgerson, 54, of Rosenberg, Texas, passed away on September 23, 2026, in Kerrville, Texas.

Ron was born July 31, 1972, in Long Beach, California, to Ken Torgerson and Penny Torgerson. He later made his home in Texas and built a life around family, hard work, and the interests he enjoyed most.

Ron married Noreen on April 29, 2000, in Richmond, Texas.

A skilled transmission builder, Ron was co-owner of Sterling Transmission Center in Rosenberg. He took pride in his work and had a natural ability for understanding machinery and working with his hands.

That talent also carried into one of his favorite pastimes: restoring classic cars. Ron enjoyed the challenge of bringing an old car back to life and appreciated the craftsmanship, power, and character of the automobiles he worked on.

He was also an avid hunter and especially loved time spent at his cabin in Kerrville. The outdoors, hunting, and the opportunity to get away from the pace of everyday life were important to him. Ron also enjoyed playing Texas Hold ’Em and was known to be a very good poker player.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ken Torgerson, and his brother, Brian Torgerson.

He is survived by his wife, Noreen Torgerson; his children, Brittney Ronayne (Dylan Kelley), Nathan Torgerson, and Brayden Torgerson; his grandchildren, Jude Hochreiter and Dean Kelley; his mother, Penny Robichaux-Koontz and her husband, Dan Koontz; his stepmother, Diane Torgerson; his brothers and sisters, Jacob Robichaux, Jeremiah Robichaux, Haley Robichaux, Dominic DiMayo, and Emily Deason; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Those who knew Ron will remember a man who enjoyed working with his hands, the sound and beauty of a classic car, time spent hunting in the Texas Hill Country, and a good hand of poker. More than anything, they will remember the individual moments, stories, and memories that made him uniquely their own.

His family and friends will miss him and will continue to carry those memories with them in the years ahead.

Services for Ron will be held at a later date.

"Ron was a great friend, he never passed on an opportunity to help me out any time I asked. Spent many weekends with him up in the hill country, he even let me hunt and that's where my daughter shot her first doe. I talked to him not long ago, this truly hurts my heart. RIP brother Ron, you were a great friend"
