Charles William Silvers
7/22/1950 - 8/28/2024

Charles William Silvers, 74, of Kerrville, TX, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, tragically and unexpectedly left us on August 28, 2024.

Charles was born in Pecos, Texas on July 22, 1950, to parents, James William Silvers and Twyla Jo Silvers (McLaughlin). He attended Texas A&M University majoring in Wildlife Science. Charles changed careers and became a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Charles married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte (Crist), in 1970 and were married for 54 loving years. Together, they had two sons, James (Jay) and William. Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and spending time with all of his family. After retiring, he became a beloved volunteer with the Animal Welfare Society/Freeman-Fritts Vet Clinic and Shelter, fostering and adopting while becoming a "cat daddy" to numerous kitties including kittens, seniors, and ones requiring hospice care.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James and Twyla Jo, and sister Paula Goff and is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte; son Jay and wife, Rebekah; son William and wife, Molly; along with grandchildren Kerrington, Landon, Maggie, and Hannah Silvers, as well as his sister, Margaret Doggett.

A tribute to Granddad from his grandson, Landon Silvers:
I know you won't see this and we won't get to talk again, but I love you soooo much. More than you can imagine and I know God used you in ways that you don't even know about. It's sad with you not here, but I will always know that you were proud of me and that you loved me. You were the best Grandad I ever could have wished for. I know that my dad loves you and you will always be with us. You showed me what it means to be a real man and how to handle situations all the time, even when I accidentally pushed a screwdriver into your finger which was an accident. I love you so much and I can't wait to see you again in Heaven. You are one of the best guys I know and will always be in my heart. One day I will get married and be the best man I can and follow your examples. You made a big impact on my life and I want to be an amazing man just like you.

A celebration of Charles' life will be held at a later date at the Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Freeman-Fritts Vet Clinic and Animal Shelter in Kerrville, Texas.
