Erasmo Mendiola Jr.

Erasmo Mendiola, Jr., 76, of Kerrville, passed away on April 8, 2025 in San Antonio. He was born in Mission, Texas to Erasmo and Elvira Mendiola on February 21, 1949.

He was a 1969 graduate and football player at Tivy High School. He was a diehard Tivy football fan throughout his life. He attended Pan American University (aka University of Texas-Pan American) at Edinburg, Texas. He worked for the City of Kerrville. He served in the Navy. He was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church parish.

Erasmo was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Enedina, and his wife, Dora.

Survivors include sisters: Elma Mendiola, Eva M. Domínguez (+Juan), and Estella Raymond (Robert); nieces: Laura A. Domínguez (Michael) and Maristela M. McIver; nephew: Steven D. Raymond, Jr. (Kim); great-nieces: Maya M. McIver, Emma M. Raymond, and Abby McWhirt; great-nephews: Diego E. Domínguez, David E. Domínguez, Quincy E. McIver, Juan J. McIver, Hunter A. D. Raymond, and Liam N. P. Raymond. Additionally, he is survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins from Chicago, IL, Louisiana, and from areas in Dallas/Fort Worth, Hereford, and lower River Grande Valley.

Memorial Mass will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 25, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 907 Main St., Kerrville, TX 78028. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the funeral chapel.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Silver Tree Nursing & Rehabilitation and to the nurses and doctors at NE Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.
