Andrew A. Whitley, 97, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2023. He was born on September 27, 1926, in Lockhart, Texas, to Odis and Anita Whitley. He leaves behind his ever-loving wife of 44 years, Maria (Marie) Whitley, who stayed with him until his last breath.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna Pfluger; sister, Violet Glossup; and brother, Leroy A. Whitley.
Survivors include wife, Maria (Marie) Whitley; daughter, Sharon (Joe) Walker; two step adopted children, Diane (Chris) Grote and Ray Dominguez III; and sister, Gladys Stecker. We also semi-adopted a very courteous, lovable couple who would run our errands and take care of our lives, Aurora and Miquel Prado and their three children; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends whom he loved and respected.
He spent most of his life working at the Celanese Chemical Company in Bishop, Texas. That was his pride and joy. After he retired, he and his wife traveled, RV'ing all over the world. He enjoyed their married lives together to no end.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Andrew Whitley Estate, Alamo Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
