Thomas Alonzo Hillin left his earthly body to be with our Lord on November 30, 2023, in Kerrville, Texas, where he resided for the last 13 years. He was born in Pecos, Texas, to Thomas Wayne Hillin and Oma Hatton Parks on November 19, 1943. He married Donna Lynn Acker on January 25, 1969, in Jacksonville, Texas.

Tom attended high school in Fort Stockton, Texas. He then joined the US Army and served his country for three years. Upon completion of his service, he entered Texas A&M University and graduated in 1969 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Most of his career was spent in Houston, Texas, working in the oil and gas industry.

Upon retiring, Tom and Donna moved to Kerrville, Texas, to enjoy the Hill Country Life full-time. They spent summers in Breckenridge, Colorado, jeep trekking and mountain climbing in the company of the Aggie Buddies.

When Tom and his beloved dog Remy weren't patrolling the streets of Comanche Trace, they could be seen riding the roads of Slideoff Creek Ranch looking for cattle or sitting on the porch with ''Grams'' and a glass of wine. He always looked forward to his Tuesday investment group, and Friday and Saturday breakfast clubs. On Sundays, he and Donna were in regular attendance at The First Methodist Church.

One of the greatest joys in Tom's life was the birth of his grandson, Hudson. He promptly proclaimed himself ''Big Guy'' and the name stuck.

A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Tom is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Thomas Gregory of San Antonio, Texas; son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Mavis, grandson, Hudson, granddog, Fluffy of Los Angeles, California.

His siblings include sister, Nancy Claver of Grandview, Texas; sister, Kathy and husband, Mark Cox of El Paso, Texas; brother, Frank and wife, Zee of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2023 at The First Methodist Church, Kerrville, Texas.

Donations may be made in remembrance of Tom Hillin to The First Methodist Church, Kerrville.

Tom was such a dear friend to everyone in the investment club. He was a true gentleman, smart as heck, and a really good guy. I miss him already and will do so for a long time.

I was a Petroleum Engineering classmate at Texas A & M, Class of '69. Tom was an excellent student, classmate and professional associate.
My grand daughter recently enrolled as a freshman at TAMU. My visit to TAMU brought back fond memories of Tom and our fellow classmates.
It’s hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. I wish to give my sincere condolences to the Tom Hillin family.

Very sorry to hear of Tom's passing.
However I am consoled somewhat by the thought that he and my late wife, Martha, will be catching up in Heaven with Buffy, Tops, Remy and Kelly at their side!
Though we will miss Tom's presence, our hearts are warmed by our memories of him.
Loving wishes to Donna, family and those of us left behind.
Paul
