In 1967, Sharon married Lawrence ''Sonny'' Rodriguez and a few years later welcomed Taunya and then Leah, her beloved daughters. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and helpmate. She worked alongside her husband at their upholstery business in Ingram as an interior decorator and designer for many years.
After the resolution of her first marriage, Sharon married Charles Forster of Center Point in 1994. Charlie and Sharon shared many good years full of love and laughter. Sharon's creative talent and Charlie's ability to build anything, made the pair a good team. The couple built a lovely home and worked side by side growing a successful sawmill business from the ground up. Sadly, things changed for the couple after Sharon's untimely diagnosis of vascular dementia in 2015.
Sharon was loved and will be missed by many. She was cheerful with an infectious laugh and a kind word for everyone. Her love for God was apparent, but never more so than when she sang. Sharon shared her lovely voice as a choir member and soloist throughout the Hill Country, singing whenever asked. It was her lifelong passion to share the love of God through song.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Les and Edith Downey.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Forster; daughter, Taunya Long (David); daughter, Leah Patranella (Chris); and grandsons Austin and Chase Patranella.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM, Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Center Point Cemetery.
