Ann Brunsvold, aged 84, passed into heaven on January 30, 2024, in Comfort, Texas. She was born in Winfield, Iowa to Herman and Margarete Wolf on October 29, 1939. She married Michael A. Brunsvold on August 12, 1962, in Winfield, Iowa.

After graduating from Winfield High School, Ann attended the University of Iowa for a nursing degree. She worked in several hospitals as a registered nurse for about 20 years, moving every three years with Mike in the United States Air Force. Later she studied for a master's degree in Public Health Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She finished a 50-year career as a public health nurse in San Antonio. This included many years as a school nurse at Thorton Elementary School in San Antonio. She loved her job there - especially the children. When she retired, she received recognition for her years of dedicated and caring service to the students and staff of Northside Independent School District.

Ann was a long-time member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in San Antonio where she sang in the choir for about 30 years. Later Mike and Ann joined the First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville where they have worshiped for almost 20 years. She loved to participate in short term mission trips which included travel to Mexico, Africa, Guatemala, and Haiti.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Margarete Wolf, and her brother Raul Wolf. She is survived by her husband, Michael Brunsvold and their two children, Paul Brunsvold and his wife Lisa, and Mary Ann Nally and her husband Paul. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Whistler and her husband Don, and brother, John Wolf and his wife Pat. Ann is survived by 5 grandchildren: Elise Brunsvold (wife of Misha Beltrami), Regan Brunsvold, Katlyn Hamilton, Jake Hamilton, and Addison Nally.

A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Kerrville, Texas on Thursday February 8, at 1:00PM. The service will be officiated by Jasiel Garcia. The family request donations be made to St. Judes Hospital in lieu of flowers.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the community of Falling Water, Peterson Hospice, and five angels from heaven, Rosalie Salazar, Marielena Cruz, Debbie Siler, Maria Garcia and Ana Orta for their dedicated and loving support of Ann in her last times.

Thanks also is expressed to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville for funeral arrangements.

Mike,

Karen and I are so sorry to hear of yours and the family’s loss. Ann was a great neighbor and always greeted us with a big smile as we visited when we would catch her on her walks. Again, we are so sorry.
