Jeanne Larue Marmor, 88, of Castroville, Texas passed away at a skilled nursing facility in Austin, Texas on Christmas Day at 7 P.M. Both of her children had been by her side all day and the hospice was called in just a couple of hours before she passed. It happened quickly, but we knew that was what she wanted. Jeanne was born in Houston, Texas on March 8, 1935, to Troy and Viola Vermillion.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and the father of her 3 children John R. Crochet. She is also preceded in death by her youngest child, Craig Crochet who died in a tragic car accident in 1982.

She is survived by her son John Crochet, wife Mary, and their daughter Taylor; and her daughter, Melanie Crochet-Marrs and her son Dillon Marrs.

Jeanne attended Lamar High School and Baylor University for one year. Then she met John Crochet while working at Zapata Oil, where she also met George Bush Sr. She and John went on to marry and have 3 children and she worked on the campaign for George Bush, becoming good friends of him and his wife Barbara.

Jeanne went on to raise her three children in Houston where they all attended Bellaire High School. She and John Crochet went on to divorce in 1984. She reconnected with her first boyfriend John Marmor, from when she was 16 years old and he was 17. Jeanne ended up moving to Kerrville where he lived, and she and John Marmor married in 1988. She worked at Wells Fargo Bank. They were big supporters of the First Christian Church. They lived the next 35 years loving and supporting each other.

With John's death on October 26th, Jeanne told John. ''I will be right behind you.'' She became very ill and was hospitalized, so the family was never able to have a service for John.

Now, their services will be combined, and their vases will be put side by side in a columbarium at Fort Sam, in San Antonio, Texas. They will be back together side by side and will be able to celebrate their strong love on Valentine's Day. The service will be for family and friends starting at 2:00 P.M., February 12th, 2024 at Fort Sam, in San Antonio Texas. It will include a short military service for John to honor his time in the Armed Forces as a Lieutenant Colonel.
