Donald Willard Robinett passed away February 14, 2024, at the age of 92, from viral pneumonia. Donald was born on May 22, 1931, in the little rural community of Blakeney in Red River County, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Pruitt Robinett.

Donald is survived by his son, Larry (Deedee); daughter, Carol Stehling (Don); grandson, Josh; granddaughters, Ashley Wahrmund (Tyson), Katie Robinett, Megan Burris (J.T.), Kristen Stehling (Shawn Holub) and Tiffany Schott (Rodney). He also had great-grandchildren, Brantley, Travis, Kaylee, Austin, Tyler, Laynie, Michaela and Mackenze Wilkes.

Donald was an Army veteran where he trained as a medic. Later in the 1960s, he joined the Air Force Reserves.

Donald and Margie grew up together in the East Texas piney woods, where he chopped down some of those pines, fished, hunted and rode his horse to school. Donald and Margie married December 22, 1948 at just 16 and 17 years old. They moved to Kerrville in 1952 at his brother, Terrell's urging. Donald and Terrell painted houses together until Donald got a job at the VA. He got his real estate license in the 1960s. Upon retiring from the VA, he went into real estate full time. He continued to paint houses on the side. He enjoyed fixing up houses. He was sad he wasn't physically able to help work on his daughter's new house!

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 17, 2024, in the chapel at Garden of Memories, 3250 Fredericksburg Road in Kerrville.

I have not seen Mr. and Mrs. Robinett in many years, but for some reason I looked them up this morning. We lived next door to them in a duplex in Kerrville in 1993. They are amazing people with so much energy and kindness. They helped us buy our first home and even came and helped us paint the walls before we moved in. We ended up moving to San Antonio and they came to meet our son and daughter when they were born. (I always joked that they really came to see our house too!) The last time we were in Kerrville and dropped by their house was probably around 2010. I think of them often, but kids, t-ball, life happened. I will remember them every time I paint, sweep my front porch, lock myself out of my house :), clean my bathtub and rake my leaves (we have their old rake! :):) ). Having known them has made me a better person. Being around them always made me feel better about myself. I have tried to copy their generosity in my own life. I will always treasure my memories of them. It was such a privilege to have known them. My prayers are with your family. with love, Susan

Don was one of the nicest and most unassuming people I have ever met. Always friendly and polite. He had a wonderful aura that just made me feel better after having been around him. A very special man.

I worked with Mr. Robinett at the title company. He was a very nice man, and always had a smile when coming through the door. Condolences to his family and friends.
