Kathryn A. LeStourgeon, 65, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Kerrville, with family by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Norma (Schaper) Hart.

She's survived by her two daughters, Jessica (Bert) Yarbrough and Gabrielle LeStourgeon; her sister, Carolyn Hart; and her two grandchildren, Owen and Lori.

She was born on September 27, 1958 to her parents, William and Norma (Schaper) Hart in Aisne, France. William was in the Air Force so the family traveled to many different countries and states throughout the U.S. until they settled in San Antonio, TX where Kathy grew up and graduated from Oliver Wendell Holmes High School in 1976.

She was a hard worker, managing and owning multiple businesses of her own throughout the years leading her to final place of work as head agent and co-owner of Advance Insurance Group where she helped many make the choice of health insurance effortless. She received 3rd in the Nation for top producer.

Kathy was involved in her community by participating in multiple organizations including but not limited to Kerr County's Women's Chamber, Christian Women's Job Corps, Networking, and Kerrville City Chamber. She helped sponsor, decorated and organize multiple charity events.

In her spare time, she enjoyed coffee, traveling and more than anything else, spending time with her grandchildren.

She never met a stranger, and if she did she never made them feel like one.

She had a beautiful and fierce spirit that will be carried on by family and friends.

Per her wishes, there will be no services but instead please do raise your glass and cheers to an amazing woman!

To those wanting to write a small gesture, there will be a book to sign at Grimes Funeral Chapels or please feel free to make a donation in her honor to Kerrville Pets Alive.

A special thank you to the nurses with Peterson Hospice and to the family and friends that offered genuine kindness during this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss. Kathy was my cousin. I know what it is to lose your mother. My mom died Feb.'23. She was Norma's last sister. Sad that Kathy was so young. Guess we need to be content knowing they are in a better place. Yall hang in there and good luck with the rest of your lives.

I suppose I could say Kathy helped me live a little longer.
After spending about a month pulling my hair out trying to figure out the labyrinth known as Medicare, I remembered an ad I had seen for her insurance agency.
At my wits end I made a quick call and 15 minutes later, she had fixed everything I had done wrong and I am in such a better place because of her knowledge and patience with me. My wife and Kathy became friends right away talking about parrots etc.
Rest in Peace Kathy.

I knew Kathy as our insurance gal who gave the best service of anyone in town. Every appointment was like a family gathering because she made you feel like family. She was so generous to always sponsor a table for Christian Women's Job Corps and we appreciated her support. I'm sure her legacy will live on in her daughters and grandchildren. She had a fighting spirit and I'm sure she fought until the end. I know that Kathy is now dancing with the angels with her wonderful smile and quick-witted charm.

So shocked and deeply saddened to hear this news. We absolutely loved Kathy and continued to travel 4 hours to see her annualy after we moved away. We always had the best time visiting her and declined doing business over the phone because we wanted to come to see her and give and get her hugs and chuckle with her on lifes issues. RIP Kathy, you were one in a million.
