Carolyn Tauferner, 102, graduated into the presence of the King of Kings on May 23, 2024, at her home in Kerrville, TX.
Carolyn was born on February 5, 1922, in Sheboygan, WI to the late Fred and Emilie Benke.
She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1940. She attended Weber State College in Utah.
Carolyn and her husband, Lee, were former owners and operators of the Best Western Sunday House Motel and Restaurant and the Sunday House Fine Collectibles Gift Shop in Fredericksburg, where they resided before making Kerrville their home in 1998.
Carolyn was a member of Gideons International Auxiliary since 1968 and distributed bibles well into her 90's. She was a member of many other organizations.
Lee preceded her in death after 55 years of marriage.
She is survived by son, Donald Tauferner of Kerrville, TX; daughter, Diane Collins of New Braunfels, TX; 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024, at 2pm at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Celebration of Life will be June 15, 2024, at 1pm at Impact Fellowship.

Carolyn was the first to greet my late husband Dave and I on our first visit to Impact church. What a precious bright light for Jesus! She was 90 at the time - and she remembered us when we returned the next week. She was just as sweet at her 100th birthday party. What a joy to know she is finally home!
