Arnold Dwain Kardell, 92, of Center Point, TX, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in Kerrville, TX, with his daughters at his side. He passed after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Laurel, Nebraska, to Oscar and Hilda (Forsberg) Kardell on August 10, 1931.

He went to a country school in Cedar County near Laurel (Nebraska). He enlisted in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon discharge, he held many jobs involving sales and was co-owner and mechanic of Kardell's Drive Thru and Grocery for many years in Pleasanton, TX. But, the job for which he is most known was mailman for the USPS. He started with the USPS in San Antonio, TX, and retired after 40+ years in Kerrville, TX. He enjoyed being in the communities he served and visiting with all the people that he came in contact daily. In Kerrville, he was the floating mailman, so he delivered to the entire town at one time or another and everyone knew him. During his career with the USPS, he received the Special Achievement Award. He attended Trinity Church in Center Point and had many friends in the area. He liked to play golf and bowl.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents: Oscar and Hilda Kardell; his brothers: Virgil (Verna) Kardell and Kenny (Muriel) Kardell; his sisters: Lucille (Clifford) Carlson, and Shirlene Boeckenhauer.

Survivors include his daughters: Laura (David) Sinclair, Myra (Bob) Young, and their Mother, Patricia S. Kardell; his brother: Paul (Madonna) Kardell; Grandchildren: Dr. Jennifer Liedtke, Justin (Lee) Sinclair, and Taylor Sines; 5 Great Grandchildren: Kylee Jo, Kloie, Haley, Drake, and Chelsea; numerous nieces and nephews and members of his extended family.

Funeral services will be graveside 10:00 am, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Center Point Cemetery with Rev. Robert Lockaby officiating.

Memorials may be given to Meals on Wheels and St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry of Kerrville.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Hilltop Nursing Home, Ava Maria Hospice, and Nichole Ballinger of the VA services.

Love and prayers to family and friends! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Arnie at the Kerrville Post Office. He was such a wonderful man! We never had a bad day when Arnie was around. Rest in peace my friend! ❤️

Our heartfelt sympathies to the family of Arnie Kardell. We loved the Kardell family and looked up to them. They were Godly, loving people, who we thought a lot of. As a child growing up in Laurel, NE, I cannot say enough kind remarks for Arnie who cared about youth and children. What a great guy! I pray Arnie is at peace with God and family.

Always so enjoyed the time spent with your dad. Even after I remarried, he made special effort to come and visit us when he was in Nebraska. All of you have always held a special spot in my heart!
Peace be with all of you in this time.
