April Lauren Lawrence, 41, of San Antonio and formerly of Abilene, was received in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on August 17, 2024.
April was born in San Antonio, Texas on August 10, 1983. She graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas. Her senior year, she won first place in Dramatic Interpretation at the UIL state level which led to an invitation for her to audition to attend the American Music & Dramatic Academy of New York City. April did audition and was accepted and attended the American Music & Dramatic Academy for a short period.
Growing up, April was a gymnast which resulted in placement on the varsity gymnastics team of Cooper High School. She was quite the athlete landing A-Team placement in middle school for volleyball, basketball, and track.
Additionally, April was in the school orchestra playing the violin. With all this, April's favorite was singing. At any given moment, day or night, she would burst out in song thus being nicknamed Songbird by her Aunt Stephne.
April was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Jack Lawrence and her younger, brother Matthew Michael Lawrence.
She is survived by her daughter, Paige Lauren Guadiano of San Antonio; her mother, Lauren Willkens Gootee of Lampasas; siblings, Cassandra, Lyndsay, Julie, Brittanie, Christopher, and Justin; a step-mother, Michelle Lawrence; and step-father, Mark Whitehead, who were an intricate part of her childhood and young adult life.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX with Reverend John Onstott officiating and directed by Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville, TX.
