Roma Caviness Collins was born in Lubbock, Texas January 14, 1937 and passed away at her home in Kerrville, Texas on September 25, 2024. She graduated from Lubbock High School and Texas Tech University with a degree in Home Economics.

Roma married her high school sweetheart, Howard, in 1958, was married 67 years and they had two daughters, Carrie and Polly. Her love of family was immeasurable and unconditional. She was graceful, kind, creative and lived a life of gratitude.

Roma loved the Lord all of her life but would tell anyone that her personal relationship with Jesus and love and understanding of God's Word came when she attended Bible Study Fellowship, (BSF). Because of her, our immediate family came to know and love Jesus and understand that our relationship with him is ongoing like that of a lifelong friend. The more time spent with someone the better you get to know them.

Roma was preceded in death by her daughter, Polly Collins; husband, Howard Collins; brothers-in-law, James Collins and Don Douglass; and sister-in-law, Ann Collins.

Roma is survived by her daughter, Carrie Collins; sister in-law, Carol Douglass; niece, Cathryn; nephews, Trigg, Brent, Clark, Gregg and Neal; and cousins and friends who will miss her thoughtfulness, generosity of spirit and cards/notes.

We wish to thank Alamo Hospice, Dr. Grocki, nurses, Melinda, Juanita; Heather and Chaplain Larry for their unparalleled compassionate care.

As per Roma's request, no service is planned and her ashes will be spread with her daughter, Polly and husband, Howard, who preceded her in death.

Grateful, kind and generous in
ALL circumstances best describes the lives of
Roma and Howard Collins, my parents,
who were two peas in a pod,
blessed everyone they encountered and
will be missed by many!
Praise be to God for lives well lived!

Your mom and dad were best friends with my in-laws, Ed and Florence Honea. I had the honor to get to know them throughout the years and they were definitely two peas in a pod. They both had such love for each other and that extended to many other who were lucky enough to meet them. Prayers to you
. Know that they are cuddled together again in Heaven

Carrie, i am beyond words of sadness learning about your precious Moms passing. It’s hard for me to even say Roma without saying sweet Roma. I adored her and your Dad, truly two of the finest people I’ve ever known. We don’t take the paper and my daughter just sent the obituary to me this morning. I looked up to sweet Roma and she taught me so much over the years. What classy parents you had, you were blessed and i know you realize that too. ❤️donna jackson

Roma was a dear junior and high school friend. Although I did not get to see or talk with she or Howard I carried that love in my heart. Her picture is just as I remember her. So beautiful and full of Grace.

There are no finer folks than the Collins family. I know that Polly is happy to have her Mom and Dad with her and all are at peace. Carrie is in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏🏻

Roma and Howard, 2 of the finest, gentle people. Being from west Texas, they did very well and will be missed greatly by those fortunate enough to have known them. Condolences to Carrie.
