Beth graduated from Mary Carroll High School and University of Corpus Christi (now Texas A&M Corpus Christi) with a degree in Fashion and Merchandising. She was a Christian baptized at Parkdale Baptist Church in her youth. A child of the 50's, she came of age in the 60's, sowed her oats in the 70's, finally settling into her career in the 80's. Those who lived through those times can identify. She began her career at J Harris where she once was so pissed she chased a shoplifter out of the mall and tackled her in the parking lot until security could arrive. Probably not advisable. As Beth's career advanced, she moved to Austin, Dallas, "N'Awlins" as Russ would say, finally arriving in LA the epicenter of fashion. Business travel to the south of France and garment factories in China, Malaysia, India, Hong Kong, Taipei, Korea, and Viet Nam became common place where she made many lifelong friends both stateside and overseas. Many have said she had a major influence on their lives. She ultimately retired to "sleepy" Kerrville, TX and tried her hand at delivering food with Meals on Wheels in addition to mentoring kids through the school system.
Beth is predeceased by her father, Jack R. Fite Sr.; mother, Johnnyrea L Fite; and brother, Russ Fite.
Survivors include her brother, Gregg Fite; sister-in-law, Michelle Fite; nephew, Cory Fite and his wife Amanda Fite; and the dogs, Jake, Lucky, Mudge, and Rusty.
Beth's wishes were for services to be private, and she will be buried in Fite family plots in Hughes Springs, TX. Hug your friends and family and share your best Beth story in her memory.
In lieu of flowers, consider contributing to American Cancer Society or PKD Foundation.
JB said it best, "It's been a lovely Cruise."

Beth was my best mentor and it’s the most challenging and happiest moment to work with her! I’m glad I had shared growth of my sons and see years gone! I couldn’t hug you in my arms but I always hold you in my heart! Now with blessing to get rid of pain and rest peacefully at heavenly father’s arms!

I first met Beth at the Dietert Center when we volunteered together in Take 5.
We became friends and frequently met for lunch. I thought Beth was a great person and an even better friend. I shall always be glad for my memories of the time we spent at Take 5. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time.

Beth was one of my favorite person when I was working at CAbi. Her dry sense of humor always cracked me up. She had a kind heart and always tried to help others in any way possible. I was lucky to keep this friendship until this day. I got to visit her a few times after she retired in Kerville and we always kept in touch. When I was in Austin just a month ago, she came to meet me for lunch. Not knowing that was the last time I got to spent with her, we ate good Texas BBQ, we talked and we laughed. I will always remember the time we spent together. I'm glad you are free of pain and sufferings. I love you, Beth. You will be missed,

This breaks my heart. I adored Beth. She was one of my favorite people. I got to know her through Meals on Wheels. We saw Beth last week and she was so excited to come back to our program and help as an Assessor. She was a wonderful and amazing lady. Beth will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Rest in peace sweet lady. I will miss your beautiful smile and wonderful laugh.
