Sandra (Sandy) Holmes Taylor passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the age of 86 years. She was born July 2, 1938, in Meriden, Connecticut to Damon and Charlotte Holmes. The family moved to Houston, TX in the early 1950's, and to Comfort, TX where she graduated from high school. She worked as a teacher's aide in Center Point, and then as a secretary at Southwestern Engineering in Comfort. Upon retirement, she assisted her late husband in operating water systems in Comfort and Center Point.

Sandy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville where she sang in the choir, Saints Alive, and former Gloryland Gospel group. She was also a member of the Center Point Lions Club and American Legion Auxiliary Post 583.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Eddie E. Taylor, Sr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Terry McDonald; and great-granddaughter, Adelynn Nicole Rios.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Paul) Bloom of Ingram, Sue Wood of Center Point, Kathy (Bert) Biermann of Comfort, Nancy (Will) Thompson of Center Point; and son, Neal (Chelsea) Coldwell of Center Point. Grandchildren include Damon (Kathryn) Bloom, Lindsay (Michael) Rios, Ashley (Ransom) Hightower, Megan (Cody) Winfrey, Justin Wood, Kristin (Steve) Schreckenbach, Jared Lee (Danielle) Biermann and Sarah (Gary) Campfield. Great-grandchildren include Paisley Winfrey, Charlotte Hightower, Briella and Grayson Rios, Ellie Wood, Emmaline Schreckenbach, Lilly and Stetson Biermann, Cason and Kate Campfield, Maddox and Brynn Bloom; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Pastor Scott Turner officiating. A private burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Damon Bloom, Justin Wood, Jared Lee Biermann, Mark Wood, Will Thompson and Gary Campfield.

Sandy requested that if so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Center Point Lions Club or Center Point VFD.
