Agnes Williams went to be with our Lord and Savior on Feb. 3, 2025, in Kerrville, TX.
She was born to Oscar and Katherine Stanko from Colorado. She lived her childhood being raised on a farm outside of Ramah, CO where they raised cattle and pigs and had a horse. She went to a little country school and when it would snow, she would walk to school 3 1/2 miles and on good days without the snow, she would ride their horse to school. There were times that the snow would get so deep that you couldn't even see the fence and made things to be unsafe. After school she would work in the field cutting corn and cane by hand using a scythe.
She had married Albert Lee Pearson and had her four children. That marriage had later ended, and she moved to Kerrville in 1967 where she had then married Bill Williams.
After arriving to Kerrville, she had first went to work at the Kerrville State Hospital for 3 1/2 years, then became a manager at Danny's Chicken for 7 years. She also worked as a supervisor of housekeeping at the Sunday House Motel for 10 1/2 years and then went to work at Edge Water Nursing Home as a supervisor for 15 1/2 years, later stepping down as a supervisor as her career was winding down. She worked at Edge Water Nursing Home for a total of 27 1/2 years before retiring.
Agnes came from a family of 4 brothers, John Stanko, Frank Stanko, George Stanko and Eddie Stanko; and 6 sisters, Helen Stanko, Katherine Stanko (Tutty), Dorothy Pickins, Margie Strutton, Sophia Pratts and Hazel Quenzler.
She is survived by two sons, Roger and spouse Julie from Corpus Christi, TX and David Pearson from Kerrville, TX; one surviving daughter, Linda Yastic and spouse Bob and predeceased daughter, Nadine Webb; 3 grandchildren, Larry Webb from Shelburn, IN, Jason Jeffers and spouse Allison, Jessica Jeffers Garcia and fiancé Bobby Schmidtzinsky from Bandera, TX; 6 great-grandchildren, Lane and Logan Webb, Dustin Keuhler, Lilliana and Jacob Garcia of Bandera, TX and Barrett Jeffers of Center Point, TX; many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended church family and friends.
She was all about her family. They are what meant the most to her. She was a prayer warrior for her family, friends and all those in need and that she came in contact with. And there was nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She encouraged and instilled love and integrity and many other things in each of us and taught us what hard work was all about.
She used to love going fishing and to travel, but her most heart's desire was with her flowers. She loved to do gardening and to be outdoors.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM-12 Noon, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
Graveside services will follow at 1 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, with Pastor Thomas Jeffers officiating.
