Marshall grew up in Chicago playing numerous sports, served as an Altar Boy at his local Catholic Church, and helped his Dad with his morning milk deliveries throughout Chicago.
His love for Western movies led to him working at local horse stables where he rode horses after school and on weekends. His love of the western lifestyle led to his high school nickname of ''Tex.''
After graduating high school in 1950, he joined the United States Marine Corps. He was assigned to the 1st Marine Division in Korea as a BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) man. He served a one-year combat tour with 2nd Battalion 7th Marines where he fought in several combat engagements.
Upon ending his enlistment in the Corps, he returned to Chicago and worked a short time as Milkman, until he became a Chicago Policeman in 1955.
He started out as a motorcycle Patrolman, then worked in Vice, Narcotics and then became a member of the Departments elite ''Task Force'' working in Chicago's most crime ridden neighborhoods, for which he was awarded several Police Department decorations.
He married his wife Coletta Considine in 1958, and his son Marshall Considine III was born the following year.
He eventually worked his way up to the Chicago Crime Laboratory (Known today as CSI) as a Homicide Detective, investigating murders all over Chicago. He graduated from the FBI National Academy in 1973.
Because his superb performance, he was eventually promoted to ''Director'' of the Crime Laboratory. His knowledge on criminal investigations was in high demand, and he traveled throughout the country speaking to other Law Enforcement organizations.
After he retired from the Chicago Police Department in 1985, he decided to get back to riding horses again and decided to move to the Cowboy Town of Prescott, AZ.
For the next 30 years he worked on some of the largest ranches in Arizona, helping gather cattle in rough country. He was never so happy as when he was on top of a horse!
He lost his beloved Coletta in 2022 and moved to Kerrville in 2023 to live closer to his family. His son Marshall is a retired Marine Colonel who lives with his wife Debbie in Bandera.

Mr. Considine worked with my dad, William Scanlon, in the Crime Lab, CPD. I remember my dad talking about him. He wrote on my Dad’s guestbook when he died in 2006. My sincere condolences on his passing. I suppose they are both reminiscing about the lab up in heaven!
