Charles Duane Cragg

Duane Cragg passed away on March 15, 2025, at home in Mountain Home, TX. Duane was born in Corpus Christi, TX on November 20, 1941.

Duane was dedicated to his family and friends. He was a Master Machinist by trade, working at Mooney Aircraft for 30 years. After retirement, he built his own shop at home in Mountain Home.

There wasn't much he couldn't do with his talent in metal working of obsolete parts.

He shared a marriage with wife, Judy Cragg, for 64 years. Both were raised and attended schools in Carrizo Springs, TX. Together they raised their children with morals, values and strong work ethics.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Katherine Cragg of Uvalde, TX; a daughter, La Gina Cragg, 5 ½ years old, while living in Houston, TX in 1973.

Survivors include wife, Judy Cragg of Mountain Home; daughter, Sheri Baker of Kerrville; son, Douglas Cragg (Lisa) of Wimberley, TX; son, Jason Cragg of Leander, TX; grandchildren, Sterling Smith (Jessica) of Beeville, TX, Ariel Baker of San Antonio, TX, Dean Cragg of Wimberley, TX, Cierra Cragg of San Angelo, TX; and three great-grandchildren.

Duane leaves behind many lifelong friends and neighbors in the Mountain Home community.

A memorial will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

The family thanks Peterson Hospice for care and compassion during his short illness.

Family requests donations be given in Duane's memory to Peterson Hospice, Kerrville, TX.
