Donna was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 6, 1939, to Frances and Donald Mathis. Later she moved to California with her family where she met Angelo through close friends. They were married on July 18, 1958, in San Diego, California. They welcomed their daughter two years later. In 1962, they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where they welcomed their son.
Donna went back to school earning her master's degree from Texas Christian University in Anatomy and Physiology. She became a teacher and taught different grades through her many years including as an assistant professor at Tarrant County Junior College. When she retired Donna and Angelo moved to a beautiful house in the Hill Country of Kerr County, Texas.
Donna loved spending her free time feeding the deer that visited daily, cooking for her and Angelo. And she had a special place in her heart for their rescue dog, Peanut.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Donald Mathis; her sister, Vicki Lynn Mathis; her aunt, Weltha June Mathis; grandmother, Minnie Bell Mathis; and loving pets, Pippi, Curls, Storm, Boots, Tigger, and Doogan.
Survivors include Angelo Falzarano Jr., Angelina Dawn Falzarano, Angelo Guy Falzarano, Peanut, sister and spouse, Carol and Jack Smith, brother, Donald Mathis and spouse, nephew and nieces and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday March 24, 2025, from 12-2 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 2:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 am, Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Donna's favorite charities, Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter.

My deepest condolences to my Uncle “Fuzzy” Angelo and
cousins Guy & Dawn. Auntie was loved & cherished and will be missed.
I have fond memories and those will be remembered always. Always an Auntie now an Angel!
