Janet Yvonne Deems, of Kerrville, went home to our Father on May 22, 2025, at the age of 90 years.
She was born on February 26, 1935, in Pampa, Texas to Dee and Violet Overley.
She was married twice to Herbert Sturgis and Ralph Deems and had 6 daughters (one of which was adopted).
She spent many years working in the medical field, eventually achieving the status of COO and CEO positions.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; long-time life partner, Richard Burrus; and daughters, Sherri Leal, Terri Woods and Tracy Morrison.
She is survived by her daughters, Starla (Fred) Ball, Tamara Hayes and Leslie Deems. She also has 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many, many friends and loved ones.
Janet had many passions including gardening, painting, ceramics, sculpting / dolls, interior design and fiber art.
She was a shining light and provided a safe haven for everyone she loved. Heaven is a much brighter place with her in it.
By her wishes, she was cremated. A private service will be held at a later date.
Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
