James Russell ''Rusty'' Weimer passed away at the age of 67 on June 17, in his home. Rusty was born in San Antonio, Texas, he lived his life in Kerrville with his loving wife Clarabelle Reeves Weimer, and they raised their 4 children, Winter Landmann-Herd, Rolinda Cathey, Tiffany Holt and son Troy Weimer. He spent the last few days surrounded by family and friends that loved him dearly.
He graduated from TIVY High in 1977 and then attended St Phillips College to studied Diesel Mechanics. He loved to rebuild Jeeps and has done so many times over the years. His last project was a Jeep Truck that he loved, which most would recognize all over town.
Rusty will dearly be missed at the Parts Store!
Rusty was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
One of his favorite things to do was to take his grandkids fishing, he took great joy in teaching them how to put a worm on the hook for the first time. Halloween was his favorite holiday. He would dress up like Santa Claus and handout candy from his porch. Rusty will be greatly missed!
Rusty is preceded in death by his son, Troy Weimer; his father, James H. Weimer, Jr.; his mother, June Weimer; and his brother, Randy Weimer.
Survivors include his wife, Clarabelle Reeves Weimer; his brother, Rodger Weimer from Seguin, Texas; his daughters, Winter Landmann-Herd, Rolinda Cathey, and Tiffany Holt; his grandchildren, Alletta Cabiness, Pagie Cathey, Nathaniel Cathey, Evan Williams, Baylei Herd, and Tyler Weimer; his great-grandchildren, Jacoby Cabiness, Easton Cabiness, Oliver Cabiness, Asher Bohnenkamp; and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 2pm-4pm on June 21, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Medina Children's Home or a charity of your choice.
