A mother's love knows no end, and Mom's love never once faltered for any of us. She faced every task without hesitation, never complained, and always gave everything she had and more. She was the very definition of a hardworking woman. We often joked that she had no pain threshold at all, because even in her final six months, while enduring two fractured vertebrae and a fractured hip, she still never complained about going to work.
Born a military brat in Frankfurt, Germany on February 2, 1948, Mom and her brother spent their early years moving from base to base. Through it all, one thing she always held dear was her Comfort roots and her German heritage. She was immensely proud to be a Comfort High School graduate, Class of 1967, and even prouder to have been part of the very first Miss Comfort Court in 1966.
After graduation, while working at Mooney Aircraft, she met the love of her life, William Arthur ''Tink'' Taylor Jr. They married on April 11, 1969, and for the next fifty-two years, they built a life rich with love, blessings, and the occasional trial.
Following their marriage, she began her remarkable federal career that would span more than forty-two years. She started at the Kerrville Veterans Hospital in the medical records division, later moving into nursing and eventually becoming secretary to the Chief of Staff. After retiring from that position, she took a brief detour to Austin where she worked at a bakery she adored until she could no longer cook.
When the family returned to Center Point, she worked in medical records for the State Hospital before resuming her federal service at the Social Security Administration. After retiring from SSA, she devoted two years to caring for her grandchildren, only to return for another three years of service with SSA. Throughout her career, she received numerous commendations for her unmatched dedication to putting others first.
In more recent years, she found joy in working at Bode Feed, Wood Seed and Feed, and Harper Feed and Ace Hardware, where her customer-first attitude forged countless cherished friendships. She often said she could not have asked for better people to work alongside during those later years.
Mom and Dad were truly a match made in heaven, complementing each other in every way. From the many dances they attended and often won, to following her husband across the U.S. to hundreds of dogs shows and coon hunts, making memories in small towns and big cities alike, always ready to cheer him on (and fill out his paperwork). Their home was always open, and their kitchen was always warm. We grew up with so many ''extra'' siblings that it would be impossible to count. They gave freely, even if it meant giving their very last dollar to someone who needed it more.
One of Mom's greatest joys was spoiling her family with the comforting aroma of fresh coffee and the sweetness of warm cinnamon rolls - no matter the hour, day or night. From the endless baking (to which we constantly volunteered her - thousands of cakes and cookies later) to sewing everything from prom gowns to wedding dresses, she poured her talent and love into everything she did. She and Dad built a beautiful life together, welcoming their first daughter, Ava, then their second daughter, Jackie, and finally their son, John. In time, their family blossomed to include grandchildren Jessica, Kelby, Baley, Justin, Cooper, and Brooke, along with cherished great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter, each one bringing her endless joy.
Martha Roxanne Bohnert Taylor, born February 2, 1948, passed away at home on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Just a short note to let you know we are thinking of you. Life is so precious and your mom was pretty special. It seems life goes faster and faster as we age. I know she is with your dad and they are both from ear to ear.
Love y’all

God has taken home a very special lady-a caring friend who was always available just when we (or one of our baby goat kids) needed her most! . Roxanne will be sorely missed.

I first met Mr. & Mrs. Taylor at a state hunt, through Buddy Murphy, several years back. They were two people you instantly loved and respected. Always friendly, and always together. God bless your family as they are reunited once more, for I can only imagine what you are going through. Tho I pray God gives you peace in knowing they are together again, and please know they will never be forgotten by any who had the pleasure of knowing them.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
