Donald Patrick Dorsey, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected attorney, world traveler and follower of Christ, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Don, a respected attorney in Kerrville, practiced law for 58 years - remaining fully active until the day of his passing.
Born on October 21, 1941, in Big Spring, Texas, to Colonel Russell Frank Dorsey and Alice Vivian Barton Dorsey, Don graduated from Big Spring High School and later from Texas A&M University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1967. Over nearly six decades, Don built a distinguished legal career grounded in integrity, knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to his clients and community.
Don's work was only one part of a full and meaningful life. He was a man of deep Christian faith who loved Jesus and lived with integrity, humility, and compassion.
Don loved Texas A&M football. A proud Aggie to the core, he followed the team with fierce loyalty and passion.
Don had an enthusiasm for travel and adventure. He and his beloved wife, Gloria, journeyed extensively - exploring London, France, Greece, Africa, and China, among many others.
He shared his adventurous side with his daughter, Nicole, as well: snow skiing in New Mexico and Colorado; scuba diving in Jamaica and the Bahamas, sailing, and trips to London, Germany, Austria and Mexico, creating unforgettable memories together.
Don shared his son, Chris's, love of music, always encouraging his passion and creativity. A true renaissance man, Don was eager to share mutual hobbies of music, photography, books, films, and philosophy with Chris.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his daughter, Nicole, and husband, Aaron Wilson; his son, Chris Huber, and wife, Emily. He was a proud grandfather to David Wilson and wife, Karissa, and Taylor Wilson. Don also cherished his great-grandchildren: Amy, Gabriel, and Ellie Wilson. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Jenny Dorsey, and his brother-in-law, Paul Vidal, wife Carmen, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who he treasured deeply. One of Don's great joys in life was his faithful pup, Willie, who was rarely far from his side.
Don will be remembered for his brilliant legal mind, adventurous spirit, unwavering faith, and most of all, his love and devotion to family and friends. His legacy is one of wisdom, strength, generosity, and a life well-lived. He will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be held at 2 p.m. September 20, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels. If you'd like, please send words of remembrance to gloria0131@me.com.

If you happen to see a new intensely-glowing 🌟 in the night sky with a hint of maroon coloring, it will most likely be representative one of the newest permanent arrivals, Donald Dorsey, glowing brightly in the heavens. Shine on, Big Guy!
