Leslie Henry, 71, of Kerrville, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on August 14, 2025.

Born on March 23, 1954, in San Diego, California, Leslie moved to Richardson, Texas, as a child, where he grew up surrounded by lifelong friends and teammates. A proud RHS Eagle, Leslie's love of football began in high school and remained with him throughout his life.

Faith, family, and fellowship defined Leslie's days. He was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving father and grandfather, and a friend who could always be counted on for a warm smile, a good story, or a round of golf. On the course, Leslie found joy and peace, but his greatest victories were always at home - with his family gathered close.

Leslie was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Davis; and his father, Leslie Henry Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Henry and her son Colton of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as his son, Chad Henry also of St. Louis, Missouri; his sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Robert Conn of Lone Oak, Texas; and his nieces and their families - Tonya and Larry Rissmiller with their sons, Larry and James of Wortham, Texas; Brittany and Rob Hill with their son, Hudson; and Ashley Conn, all of Lone Oak, Texas.

Those who knew Leslie will remember him for his unwavering faith, his easygoing humor, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. Whether cheering from the sidelines, mentoring a friend, or simply sharing a meal, Leslie lived with gratitude and joy.

Leslie's family invites all who knew him to celebrate his life not only in memory, but in practice: take time for a round of golf, cheer at a football game with loved ones, share kindness with a neighbor, and walk closely with the Lord.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2025, from 4 to 6pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas located at 728 Jefferson St. A visitation will also be held on Thursday August 21, 2025, from 5 to 7pm at West- Hurtt Funeral Home in Desoto, Texas located at 217 S. Hampton Rd., followed by a funeral service on Friday August 22, 2025, at 9:00am at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, Texas.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing Leslie is home with his Savior, and that his love and legacy will continue through the lives he touched.

So sorry for your family loss with Leslie’s passing. He was in my home a lot when I was at RHS as he was close friends to my brother, John Glenn. His Mom was always a funny and clever lady. I will remember him as he was in HS. Glad he had a full life and beautiful family!

I was saddened to learn that The Good Lord had called Les home. What a great guy. He always had a smile on his face and never lacked for conversation. I’m glad I knew him and am honored to call him my friend.

May the Good Lord’s peace surround and comfort the family.
