Raised by her mother, Donetta Saunders, and stepfather, James Robert Boring, a World War II hero and Purple Heart recipient, Donna's childhood spanned San Antonio, Fontainebleau, France, Landstuhl, Germany, and Monterey, CA, shaping her worldly grace. At Holmes High School in San Antonio, she shone as a thespian, starring in nearly every play. She loved reading and dancing with her sisters to American Bandstand's lively tunes.
In 1968, at San Antonio's HemisFair, a toothache led Donna, then at the General Electric pavilion, to Jesse, a redheaded dentist. Their love, sparked by his warm charm and deepened at Castle Hills First Baptist, endured through joys and trials, blessing them with four children - Jessica, Darren, Jayme, and Derek, an unexpected gift who brought boundless joy.
Donna earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UTSA in 1992 and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2010. Her brilliant mind thrived as a research coordinator, tackling complex medical problems with passion, always studying medicine in her spare time.
Donna's faith and love, rooted in 1 Corinthians 13:7, shone in her devotion to family and Christ. She is survived by her children, Jessica (widow of Gregory Parsons), Darren, Jayme (wife of Shane Boscamp), and Derek; sister Cathy; brothers Phillip and James Boring Jr. (Jimmy); sisters Suzanne, Paula, and Melody.
A service will be held at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, Texas, at 11 am on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Donna will be missed very much. She was blessed to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived her life fully and was a child of God.

I was so saddened to hear of Donna's passing. We have worked together for almost 10 years. She always so joyful and genuine. I could always go to her with a question or a request for prayer. I loved her little pep talks when I wasn't having a good day. She provided my family and I a meal when I was out of work sick. I know that without a shadow of a doubt that she is in Heaven rejoicing with the Angels and reunited with her husband. I sure wish that I would have had the chance to talk with her one last time. I will always cherish our memories. To the family I pray for your peace and comfort. She was a good person and will be dearly missed.
