Colin Benjamin Carothers, age 32, passed away on September 15, 2025 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee to Leni Suzanne Lumbley Carothers and Charles Robert Carothers on August 10, 1993. He often resided in Kerrville Texas at his mother's residence.

He graduated from Nederland High School in Nederland, Texas. He then attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas School of Radiologic Technology with a Radiology Technology Degree. He worked at North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas as the Lead OR Radiology Technologist. Following that he worked in McKinney and then Austin, Texas. Colin also liked to study zoology and horticulture. He was always researching something new.

Colin was a very skilled skateboarder and demonstrated his abilities by posting videos on YouTube. He loved to golf, cook and especially fish. He enjoyed salt water and fresh water fishing. He would spend hours down at the ranch lake, here in the beautiful hill country that he loved so much. He loved catching fish and releasing most of them. He was a skilled chef who could put together a meal that would amaze the palette. He was told several times that he could be a chef. What he dreamed about was to become a boat Captain and fishing guide. He spoke about how as they were fishing, he would tell them about God, his amazing grace, and cook them a meal. The reality is that he wanted to be a fisher of men for God. His boat would be called ''Fisher of Men.'' Colin loved to talk about God and knew scripture since he studied the Bible daily. He said it was his calling.

Colin was preceded in death by his Fraternal Grandfather: James Lowell Carothers, Step Grandfather: Pete Hickman. Maternal Grandfather: John Lumbley, Stepfather: Robert ''Bobby'' Bourque. Uncle: John Dale Lumbley and by his canine friends ''Maggie'' and ''Boo.''

''And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose''. Romans 8:28 NIV

''So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.'' Isaiah 41:10 NIV.

Colin had a great deal of mercy for those that were hurting or in need. He would often stop to give a hug, prayer, clothes, or food to the homeless.

In the end, Colin just wanted to share his testimony and even though it seems God had other plans for him, his testimony is being shared between those who knew and loved him the most.

Colin's favorite Bible verses were ''Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance of what we do not see.'' Hebrews 1:11 NIV. ''Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go''. Joshua 1:9 NIV. He would often quote these verses in the OR during surgeries.
