George ''Kit'' Fowler Carson, Jr. passed away peacefully at his ranch in the Texas Hill Country on December 3, 2025. Born August 27, 1939 in Longview, Texas to George Fowler Carson Sr. and Francis King Carson. The family later relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his three siblings: Katherine Elaine Carroll of Corpus Christi, Texas, Caroline Ann Campbell (Scot) of Harlingen, Texas, and John Phillip Carson of Sinton, Texas.

Kit graduated from W.B. Ray High School, Corpus Christi, Texas and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas and was an air traffic controller for the United States Air Force. In 1965 he married his beloved wife, Patricia Edwards Carson, and they raised three sons in Corpus Christi: George Fowler Carson, III (Sharon) of Mountain Home, Texas, Patrick Redmond Carson (Tivia) of Kerrville, Texas, and Oakes Welder Carson of Dallas, Texas.

Kit had a successful career in commercial real estate sales and development in Corpus Christi. In the mid-nineties ''Trisha'' and Kit moved their family to Kerrville, Texas where they owned and operated Carson Distributing, a Miller distributorship and made their home in Mountain Home, Texas. Later they welcomed their beloved grandchildren: Patrick Redmond Carson, Jr., Celeste Dunn Carson, Jordan Field Carson, and Georgia Binns Carson. Redmond affectionately named him ''Gampaw'' and the girls followed.

Pre-Gampaw, we all knew Kit Carson as "The Pusher". For those who ever had a drink poured by Kit you knew you had an immediate friend and found one of the greatest guys to be around, you also knew to be careful around The Pusher! He was fun-loving, wanted everyone to have a good time and would always offer you a cold Miller Lite.

Kit was a devoted husband for 47 years and was preceded in death by Trisha in 2011. He was introduced to Marty Segrest and quickly fell in love and began a great new life in Port Aransas, Texas. They combined their worlds, traveled, spent time in the country and watched their grandchildren grow up together.

Our Dad, our Gampaw, our brother, our uncle, OUR FRIEND, Kit Carson will be dearly missed.

Honorary Pallbearers: John Carson, Scot Campbell, Claude McClelland, Jim King, Jack Scholl, Richard Thomas, Hughes Thomas, David McKee, Giles Giddings, Marty Hanisch, Robert Brown, Jack Powers and Bill Pettus.

Pallbearers: Oakes David Edwards, III, Jason Sheely Edwards, Kevin Campbell, Jeremy Carson, Charles Cromwell, Rip Thomas, Howie Thomas, Will Powers and Jeff Talley.

Visitation: Monday Dec. 15, 2025, 4:00 - 7:00 pm, Grimes Funeral Chapels, 728 Jefferson Street, Kerrville, Texas.
