Linda Sue Jenschke (Crenshaw) passed peacefully into the presence of Jesus on December 8, 2025. Born on March 2, 1950, to loving parents P. A. Crenshaw and Elizabeth Jane (Crowell) Crenshaw, Linda grew up surrounded by the steady affection of her family. She was the cherished sister of Robert, Tony, and David.
Linda spent her entire life in the Ingram and Kerrville community, a place she loved and served with quiet dedication. She graduated from Tivy High School in 1968, proudly marching as part of the inaugural Golden Girls drill team. She earned her associate degree from Schreiner College and later completed her bachelor's degree in home economics at the University of Texas at Austin in 1972.
Linda married Steve Jenschke in 1974, and together they raised three children - April, Adam, and Elizabeth. Though their marriage came to an end after twenty-eight years, they remained friends throughout her life. Linda's greatest joys were her children and her grandchildren - Sophia, Christian, Dominique, Braelyn, and Raelyn - each of whom she loved with a full and steady heart.
Linda lived out a servant's heart in every season. She worked at the Lions Camp teaching and caring for blind children, helped at a local daycare, and taught special education at both Tivy High School and Ingram Tom Moore. Later in her career, she served as a counselor and teacher at the state hospital, offering patience, dignity, and compassion to those most in need. Her calling was simple and profound: to serve - and she lived that calling beautifully.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, David and Robert; and her precious premature babies whom she now meets in glory.
Linda will be remembered for her quiet strength, her perseverance, her unwavering faith, and the gentle steadiness with which she cared for others. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and a life faithfully poured out in love.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.
