Floyd Amburgey, 89 of Kerrville passed away on January 20, 2026 in San Antonio. He was born in Odessa, Texas. He married Bonnie Hansen on May 6, 2013 in Kerrville.

He went to school at Odessa High School. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a mechanical engineer for White Sands Missile Range for 2 years and later worked for NASA/Grumman Aerospace for 5 years. He then worked for Depart of the Airforce for 27 years and retired in 2000. He also served in the army.

Floyd was preceded in death by sons, Robby Amburgey and Floyd W. Amburgey, granddaughter, Erica Amburgey and wife, Kathryn Amburgey.

Survivors include wife, Bonnie Hansen Amburgey, children Michelle Bitolas. Other survivors include grandchildren, Sean, Elissa, Joshua, Danielle, Ian, Noell, Shiloh and Hanna. Also, stepsons Mike and Mark McHugh and their children Ryan, Avery, Chelsea and Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 30, 2026 at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Baptist Church or charity of choice.
